The world currently feels like a ship of fools caught in a permanent storm – loud, polarised, and completely adrift. The worst part is that the chaos outside rarely stays outside; sooner or later, it leaks right into our slippers.
This painting is about the ability to survive today’s world without losing our sanity. It is challenging, but thanks to our capacity for adaptation, actually quite doable. We don’t have to wait in a bunker until it all blows over – we can learn to ride out the gale like a ship with a seasoned navigator.
After all, every storm eventually ends. I’ve noticed that those who emerge from this global madness with the fewest scratches are the ones who, even in the thickest fog, never forgot who they are and the One who charted the course. They land on the other shore with something they didn’t have before: a healthy perspective and a solid immunity to panic.
