Biography

Lucia Tužinská (b. Bratislava) is a Slovak painter of poetic surrealism. Her first craft was words — years spent translating books and films — and she still describes painting as a kind of translation. She trained in painting for a decade under Mgr. art. Soňa Herényiová-Belanová and gave herself to it fully in 2021; the following year an international jury awarded her the Special Jury Prize at the 24th Premio Internazionale d'Arte San Crispino in Italy, the start of a growing exhibition record across Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, and Italy, alongside an ongoing collaboration with curator PhDr. Ľuboslav Moza of the ARTEM gallery. A certified art therapist and founder of the AlterDiem studio, she lives and works in the White Carpathians and Bratislava.
