Why does freedom feel so scary?
Many reasons, I guess. It offers no guaranteed results. It is new and potentially dangerous.
It might feel safer to cling to indulgence, to the empty promises of others, to the alibi of our own helplessness. The stakes are high, though.
In the face of Eternity, our wings remain blank as long as our own story has not yet been written. The paths dictated to us by others — the status, the approval, the expectations, the identities we have learned to wear — are not our story.
When I chose to begin writing my own story, I chose to look beyond the bars. And in that moment, a landscape of possibilities appeared — a colourful world made visible by the freedom to choose.
Who gets to write your story?
