Hagiography corner:
Saint Barbara is the patron saint of miners, builders, and difficult situations. She is a protectress against sudden death, unexpected disasters, and workplace accidents.
She proved that the Holy Trinity is, among other things, a key factor in the solar optimisation of buildings. When her father locked her in a tower with two windows, she pushed for a third, bringing light into the darkest of corners. She showed us that within each of us lies the power to transform cold stone walls into a place full of hope.
As a protectress against sudden death, she has a profound understanding of our existential crises – those moments in the middle of a regular day when we suddenly realise the transience of existence and the fact that we invest most of our time in utterly trivial things. St Barbara brings us back to what truly matters.
